How To Merge Overwatch Accounts Before Overwatch 2 Launches

Can you merge two Xbox accounts?

Merging an Overwatch account from console is a simple process. From onwards, all players will be alerted to the new feature through an on-screen prompt. By following this notification through a quick QR code scan on your phone, youll be able to connect your console account with your Battle.net account.

Once connected, youll be able to confirm the merger upon your next login. Below is a step-by-step breakdown, courtesy of Blizzard:

  • Login to Overwatch from your console account.
  • Follow the on-screen prompts to scan a QR Code on your mobile phone.
  • Enter the code displayed on your console to connect to or create your Blizzard Battle.net Account.
  • Once complete, you will be prompted to confirm your account upon the next game login to merge your accounts.
  • Its worth bearing in mind that this account merging process can only be performed once. Be sure to double-check youre combining the correct accounts before following through.

As another side note, just one account per platform can be joined together. If you were hoping to merge multiple Xbox accounts into one, as an example, you wont have any luck here.

Meanwhile, for those on PC looking to merge a console account, this can be done by simply visiting the Battle.net connections page no different from before.

Fortnite: How To Merge Console Accounts

Players can now keep all their V-Bucks, skins, and other items under one account.

Following a delay, Epic’s previously announced account merging system for Fortnite has quietly gone live. Players who have multiple Fortnite accounts across consoles are now able to unify them–and all of their previously earned skins, V-Bucks, and other items–under one Epic Account.

The tool can be found on Epic’s website, but the actual process of merging accounts is fairly complex. First, you’ll need to designate one account as Primary and the other as Secondary you can read how to do that here. One of the accounts must also have been used on PS4 and the other on Xbox One or Nintendo Switch before September 28, 2018.

After you’ve designated a Primary and Secondary account to merge together, your Secondary account will be disabled, and all of the cosmetics and V-Bucks it contained will be held for two weeks before finally being transferred over to your Primary account. You can read additional details about the process on Epic’s website.

“We want to make sure that this process is thoroughly tested and working properly before releasing it to those of you currently looking to transfer purchases from other accounts to your primary account,” the company said at the time.

How To Merge Accounts In Overwatch 2

If you’re unsure of how to even begin this progress, don’t worry, as it’s relatively straightforward and Blizzard Entertainment has helpfully provided information on the process. You’ll be linking your console accounts to your Battle.net account. This naturally isn’t necessary if you only play on PC, but if you play on console then you’ll need to go through this process.

It’s important to note that you can only link one console account per platform to your Battle.net account for transferring progress. As an example, you can link your Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo profiles to your Battle.net account, but not three separate Xbox profiles.

Please follow these directions carefully, you will only have one chance to merge each console account to your Battle.net account. If you ever decide to unlink a console account after Overwatch 2 launches, there will be a one-year waiting period before you can link a different account.

    1. Start Overwatch on your console.

    2. Make sure to log in using the correct profile.

    3. If you haven’t already linked your Battle.net account to your console profile, you can do so now. If you’ve already linked your Battle.net account, skip to step 8.

    4. To link your Battle.net account, select Options.

    5. Scroll over until you find the Link Account tab.

    6. Follow the instructions and scan the QR code with your mobile device.

    7. Log into or create your Battle.net account.

Linking To Xbox Playstation And Nintendo Switch

The process for doing this is nearly identical across all three services.

Step 1: Sign in to each respective service using the same username and password you do on each console.

Step 2: Give permission for the services to share your user information with Epic Games.

If youre upgrading to next-gen consoles, theres really not much you need to do as long as your PlayStation Network ID or Xbox account is already linked, you should be able to jump into the battle royale without any extra steps.

If you followed all the steps correctly, you are ready to go. Your accounts are now all connected, and you can continue to play. If you unlock gear, progress, or anything else on one console, youll see it on your other platforms as well. If youre playing with friends, then you can continue playing with them regardless of what platform youre using.

Believe it or not, were on the fast track to the release of Overwatch 2. Ahead of the sequels launch on October 4 and Blizzard moving all Overwatch players over to it Team 4 has revealed an important piece of the puzzle: how account merging and cross-progression work.

No matter what platform you play Overwatch 2 on, youll need a Battle.net account. When Overwatch 2 launches, you can merge your PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch accounts and have one profile for all of them. This will allow you to access all the cosmetics you have unlocked across the connected accounts.

Youll also be able to share Overwatch 2 progress between platforms. For instance, if you play on both PC and Xbox, youll be able to level up your battle pass on each of them.

Starting today, Overwatch will ask you to select and confirm the accounts you want to merge when Overwatch 2 launches. Doing so now will ensure youre ready to rock and roll on October 4.

Console players will see a prompt when they log in to Overwatch. An Account Merge screen will display all of your currently linked accounts. If you select the Switch Accounts option, youll see a QR code that you can scan with your phone. You can then enter a code shown on your console to create a Battle.net account or connect it to an existing one.

    How To Merge Xbox Profiles

by Leighton Sawatzky / in Home

It’s possible to create an offline gamer profile on your Xbox 360 that is different from the profile you create on Xbox.com. The offline profile saves achievements earned offline, but doesn’t send them to the Xbox servers to be saved with your online profile. It’s possible to merge an offline gamer profile with your Xbox.com profile, but it will take some gamertag juggling. Unfortunately, it’s not possible to merge two online profiles into a single account this process is only for gamers who have built up offline achievements before joining Xbox Live.

Open your gamer profile from the Xbox Dashboard or Guide and select “Edit Gamer Profile.” We’ll use “Player1” as a gamertag.

Select “Profile Name” and enter a new gamer profile name, like “Player 2,” then sign out of the Xbox Dashboard.

Select the “Xbox Live” banner in the Xbox Live area of the Dashboard, then select “Join Xbox Live” and follow the onscreen instructions.

Enter your original gamertag when prompted. You should get a “Gamertag in use” message. Select the “Recover Gamertag” option and follow the onscreen instructions. You’ll be asked to create an Xbox Live membership during this process be sure to create a free Silver membership, as other membership types cost money. Have your Microsoft Passport Network password and e-mail address available for this step.
