Sign in to SmartGlass with the same Microsoft account you signed into your Xbox with. After you sign in, the app should automatically discover your Xbox One, assuming your device and Xbox One are on the same network. Tap your Xbox One and tap Connect to connect to the console. Leave the Connect Automatically checkbox enabled and the app will automatically connect to your Xbox One in the future.

If the app doesnt find your Xbox One, tap Enter IP Address to connect by entering your Xbox Ones IP address. You can find the Xbox Ones IP address at All Settings > Network > Network Settings > Advanced Settings on the Xbox One itself.

How Do I Put My Xbox Controller In Pairing Mode

To pair your Xbox controller with your PC, turn it on by pressing and holding the insignia button on the center of the controller. Position yourself in front of your turned on Xbox. Setting Up Your Phone

Moving on to our phone, there are two things were going to set up the controller and the official Xbox app. Again, you can use any gamepad thats certified for your smartphones OS, as long as it has all the buttons you need for the games. Of course, it would be best if you could carry your Xbox controller with you, either the Xbox One or the newer Xbox X/S Series gamepad.

Controller Pairing

First, youll need to pair the controller with your phone. Well explain how to play Xbox games on your phone with an official Xbox controller, but the method is similar for all Bluetooth controllers.

Obviously, youll need to turn on the Bluetooth connection on your phone. Then, open the settings menu and find the option called Connected Devices or Device Connectivity . Press and the pairing button on your Xbox controller. Its the little button next to the left bumper until the Xbox logo starts blinking. Then, on the phone, tap on Pair a new device or on the controllers name in the list of discovered devices. Confirm the connection if required, and the Xbox logo will stop blinking, signifying that the controller is now paired to your phone.

To stream Xbox to your phone, youll also need an app. Go to Google Play Store or App Store, find the Xbox app and download it. Once its installed, launch the app and log in to your Microsoft/Xbox account. It has to be the same account you use on the console.

You can use either an Xbox One controller or a gamepad for the newer Series X for this job , but make sure you have a Bluetooth-enabled pad if you opt for the older model. For reference, a non-Bluetooth controller will have a different colored section around the Xbox button in the centre . You can also check if the plastic that surrounds the Xbox button is formed as part of the face of the controller or as part of the bumpers.

Sony has used Bluetooth in its controllers for years, which makes it easy if you want to play Android games with a PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 gamepad. The instructions are the same for both consoles since they both use Bluetooth.

Make your Android device discoverable, then sync the controller by holding the PlayStation and buttons simultaneously. When the controller light flashes, you should see a Wireless Controller entry listed on your Android device.

Select this to complete pairing. Your phone or tablet will then ask you to confirm the pairing, so do that, and you’re done! A solid light on the PlayStation controller means that it’s successfully connected.

How To Connect An Xbox Controller To A Phone

1. Hold down the Xbox button until the white light slowly flashes. If the controller turns on and holds a white light without flashing, then you’ll need to unpair it from your console before continuing.

2. Press the Connect button on the top of the gamepad to put the controller into pairing mode – the Xbox button will flash faster.

3. If you’re using an iPhone, go to Settings > Bluetooth. After a little time, an Xbox Wireless Controller option will appear on your list of Other Devices – tap it to connect and pair.

If you’re pairing an Xbox Controller to an Android phone, swipe down on the screen to pull up your notifications and settings. Ensure your Bluetooth is switched on by holding the Bluetooth symbol on the settings menu. Select the manual ‘Scan’ option at the top of the screen and and tap ‘Pair new device’ on your Android phone. Once your Xbox controller pops up in the list of devices, tap the icon that appears to pair.

Playing Xbox Games On Your Phone Via The Xbox App

The Xbox app allows you to connect your phone to your console from any location. This allows you to remotely play all games downloaded onto your Xbox. You can also manage console space and even delete games on your Xbox using the app. You can also download and share gameplay clips and screenshots.

To start playing you will need

• An Xbox One or Xbox Series X/S
• A smartphone
• The Xbox app
• A bluetooth controller
• A good internet connection

Youll need at least iOS 13 or Android 6.0 to download and play on the app. An internet connection of over 7 Mbps is necessary . You unfortunately cannot play games from the Xbox 360 or original Xbox via the app.

To set up your Xbox for mobile remote play, turn on your console. Press the Xbox button on your controller. Then select Profile and System> Settings> Devices and Connections> Remote Features. From here, scroll down to Power Mode and select Instant On.

Your Xbox is now set up for remote play. Now to set up your mobile and controller. Go into your phones bluetooth settings and start by pairing the controller. After this, download and open the Xbox app and then sign in using your Microsoft account. Once youre signed in, tap select My Library> Consoles. You should be able to see your console listed in the options. Tap Remote Play On This Device. Youre now ready to play Xbox remotely on your mobile.

How To Switch Between Your Xbox Series X And Bluetooth Device

One of the coolest tricks with the Xbox Series X controller is that it remembers both your console and your synced iPhone or Android phone. Because of this, you won’t need to follow the above steps every time.

Once your Xbox Wireless Controller is connected to your phone, double-tap the Pair ((( button. Your controller’s central light should briefly flicker, then turn solid again as it reconnects to the Xbox Series X.

Ready to switch back to mobile gaming? When your controller is paired to your console, hold down the Pair ((( button until the center light starts flashing. This time, so long as your phone is nearby and has Bluetooth activated, the Xbox controller will remember and sync to it automatically.

If the controller doesn’t detect the old phone, it will stay in pairing mode, allowing you to connect a new phone to it if you wish.

Figure Out Which Xbox Controller You Own

To start, the Xbox Wireless Gamepad included with the Xbox Series S/X, and now widely available as the Xbox Wireless Gamepad, is nearly identical to the Xbox One’s controller. They both support Xbox wireless communication and Bluetooth, and the methods for connecting them to your PC are identical. The instructions here apply to both gamepad generations.

Original Xbox One controllers lack wireless connectivity, but the gamepads that shipped with the Xbox One S and later consoles include Xbox wireless communication and Bluetooth. You can use both controllers wirelessly with your PC, but the process is different you must get a wireless dongle for the non-Bluetooth gamepads. The good news is that Bluetooth controllers have been in production for so long that if you picked yours up in the last four years, there’s a good chance that it already has Bluetooth.

To determine whether you have a Bluetooth or non-Bluetooth Xbox controller, you need to look at the plastic surrounding the Guide button. If it’s the same plastic as the face of the controller, without any seams, you have a Bluetooth gamepad. If it’s the same plastic as the bumper buttons, with a seam between the Guide button and the controller’s face, it’s a non-Bluetooth gamepad. If it has a small, rectangular Capture button between the Menu and View buttons, and a USB-C port on the top instead of micro USB, it’s an Xbox Series controller and also has Bluetooth.

Apples iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices gained official support for Microsofts Xbox controllers after the launch of iOS 13. This means any new Xbox gamepad can be used as an iPhone controller for playing iOS video games. No hacking, special cables, or third-party hardware required. Heres how to enable an Xbox controller for iPhone gaming using the settings already built into your smartphone.

Connect A Wired Usb Controller To Android
